いろいろ話を聞いていて思うのは、一口にコミュニケーション能力と言っても、どうやら3パターンに分けられるということだ。

①ホウレンソウ上手
   どちらかというと古い会社に多い。これを重視する企業では、組織の忠実な歯車としての役割が期待されているはず。
②調整能力
   一般的なコミュニケーション能力のイメージにもっとも近い。根回しとか人付き合いとか、そういった日本的な言葉で語られるものだ。近年、これが弱いと“KY”というレッテルを貼られてしまう傾向がある。ある意味、どこへ行っても必要な素養。
③表現力
   もっとも実力が問われるのがこれである。たとえば勉強したり本をたくさん読んだりするのは高等教育修了者としては当然で、問題はそれを適切にまとめて相手に伝えられるかだ。詰め込み型の知識だけではGoogleには勝てないわけで、「知識の使い方」と言ってもいい。コミュニケーション能力というよりは、表現力という方がニュアンス的に近い。アドリブのきいた質問を連発してくるような企業は、これを重視していると考えて間違いない。
